Wally, the snow bunny, turns into the Easter Bunny!

The Black and Tan Easter Bunny:

New Mom, Megan, report, "We're doing well! Wally seems to be adjusting to his new home quite well. The dogs are getting along great!   He's a great little dog! Here are a few pictures. I tried to get one of all 3 but they wouldn't sit still long enough. I'm going to keep trying!"

Smiles With Myles!

WT Cares rep Sanda Schuldmann sends this update on Myles, her first rescue two years ago, from his devoted owner:

"Over the past two years, there have been changes in my life. I work at home now, or literally in the field, rather than in an office. While in the office, I would occasionally sneak Myles in for a day or two a week. At home, he has been my companion, my adversary, my friend. In the field, he is independent, happily exploring on hundreds of acres, and occasionally gets in trouble.

I am most attached, and most glad to have Myles in my life and presence. I think of him often and constantly. He actually demands that.  I am also most grateful to have this very charming being in my life -- and grateful to all who made the connection most meaningful to me.

Myles, the scrounge.

Bentley and his new family.

A Virginia-17 Pup Finds His Real Home!

Bentley was shy, but so, so sweet. She was snuggling with her new family, especially little Olivia, when our WTCARES volunteer said goodbye. This is clearly a great match.

Thanks to Welshie breeder and WTCARES volunteer, Kathy Rost, for all of her wonderful care and grooming to make Bentley a real Welshie again.   She looked beautiful!

A Perfect Pair

Natalie has always had terriers, but when her beloved Culloden, a 17-year-old Cairn passed on three years ago, she knew he would be impossible
to replace. As time went by, she missed having a furry companion, and so she began investigating other terrier breeds. It wasn't until a chance meeting with a Welshie while dining out, that Natalie knew for sure what she wanted.  "I watched a woman open up the back of her car, and I could see a dog in the back," says Natalie, who bolted from her table and out into the parking lot.  The woman had a 10-year-old Welshie who was as sweet as can be and convinced Natalie she had found her breed.

Brandy with her new Mom, Natalie, and her two new sisters.

Not long after, Cares was asked to re-home Brandy, a 5-year-old WT, whose family regretfully gave her up because they did not have the time to properly care for her. Brandy longed to run and play and loved nothing
better than to follow her loved ones about. Retired, Natalie has an abundance of time―and love―to lavish on Brandy, plus a nearby farm with acres of land for lots of long walks and bunnies to chase. On the day she came to meet her new mom, Brandy also met Stacy and Lynn, Natalie's daughters (from left in photo), who were on hand to welcome her.

"My mother is thrilled to have found Brandy," says Lynn. "Brandy even reminds her of a terrier named Tippy that she had as a girl. These two have found the perfect companion in each other, and I know they will live happily ever after."

Reggie and Luci and 'big' brother Gryffin.

Two WTCARES kids get a "big" brother.

Here's a quick note to introduce you to the latest member of the family, Gryffin, an 8 yr old Airedale. His owner died and the executer of the will wanted to have him put down. It was love at first sight for Jeff and I. He and our WTCARES kids, Reggie and Luci, all get on very well. Reggie (11yrs) is definitely the boss and despite his size, Gryffin is respectful of that. Gryffin has been well trained, he is very well mannered, likes people and other dogs. It's obvious his previous owner loved him very much, so we've been very lucky! Reggie and Gryffin have their moments of madness running around the house together. Luci however just watches -- "Oh those silly boys."
