What is WTCARES?

WTCARES is a volunteer rescue service of the Welsh Terrier Club of America (WTCA) that helps Welsh Terriers in distress—dogs who need to be placed in a different home, dogs who are in shelters or humane societies, dogs who have been abandoned or abused.

Dogs may need to be placed in a different home mostly for "people" reasons—an owner's job starts to require more time away from home; family life includes too many responsibilities to give the dog the care it needs; there is a major change caused by illness, divorce, or death; an owner must move to housing unsuitable for dogs or not permitting dogs, such as a nursing home. Or, the dog may have been bought on impulse and is ill suited for the owner's personality or lifestyle.
